A three-storey building collapsed near Purbachal playground in Keraniganj of Dhaka district. In this incident 6 units of fire service are working. Fire Service Control Room Operator Ziaur Rahman confirmed the information to Business Tribune.
Today (Friday) he said the injured have been sent to hospital for treatment. Rescue operations are underway.
Keraniganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Mainul Islam said there were seven people in the building as per the information provided by the house owner. Among the rescued are 3 women and a child. They are all family members of the homeowner. There was no tenant in the building. All the rescued have been sent to different hospitals for treatment.
According to the owner of the house, there is no one else in the collapsed building, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Mainul Islam.
Meanwhile, Dhaka District Executive Magistrate Shanjida Parveen Tinni inspected the collapsed building. At that time, he sealed 5 unplanned houses around the collapsed building. At the same time, the gas, water and electricity lines of the Silgala building were cut off
