Without building bridges Tk 1.48 crore embezzlement

A case has been filed against six people, including a local UP chairman and three LGED engineers, for embezzling Tk 1.48 crore without building a bridge at Barguna's Amtali. On Monday (March 15), the case was filed in the Barguna Special Judge's Court. Mohsin.

The court judge said. Hasanul Islam accepted the case and directed the deputy director of the Barguna and Patuakhali offices of the ACC to take action. At the same time what kind of action has been taken in this incident; It was asked to inform the court on April 27.

The accused in the case is the chairman of Amtali Upazila Chawra Union Parishad. Badal Khan, his younger brother Almas Khan, LGED Barguna former executive engineer. Nazmul Huda, former engineer of LGED Amtali upazila. Atiyar Rahman, former Deputy Assistant Engineer Saiful Islam and former Accountant Ansar Ali.

Among them, Atiyar Rahman is currently working on a contract basis in Dhaka for the construction of a tehsil office. Saiful Islam is working as an engineer in Bamna upazila of Barguna. Accountant Ansar Ali is working in LGED's Patuakhali Sadar Upazila.

According to the case file, Badal Khan got the job of constructing a 91-meter-long bridge in Haludia Union of Amtali Upazila at a cost of Taka 1 crore 6 lakh 10 thousand 210 with the funding of LGED. The work order for the construction of the bridge is shown as 1 October 2006 and the completion date is shown as 1 October 2006. But the accused shared the money without building the bridge.

On the other hand, Badal Khan's brother Almas Khan got the job of constructing another 25 meter long bridge in the same union at a cost of Taka 41 lakh 9 thousand 642 with the funding of LGED. The work order for the construction of this bridge is shown as 1 January 2009 and the completion date is shown as 30 June 2009. But without building the bridge, the accused took the money from the project and shared it.

Plaintiff and lawyer said. Mohsin said the contractor committed irregularities in the work; This is a different matter. But corruption like disappearing money of two bridges without working cannot be accepted.

He said the bridge cannot be hidden. They have also reduced the theft of ponds. They need to be brought under the law and given exemplary punishment. As a conscious human being I have sued for their exemplary punishment.

Mahbubul Bari Aslam, the lawyer in the case, said, "We have all kinds of data." The court directed the deputy director of the Barguna and Patuakhali offices of the ACC to take action.
