The High Court has granted six-month bail to cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore, who was arrested in a case under the Digital Security Act.
After hearing the bail application of cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore, Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md. The bail was granted by a virtual high court bench comprising Mostafizur Rahman. Lawyer Jyotirmoy Barua heard cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishorer's bail application in court. Deputy Attorney General was on behalf of the state. Sarwar Hossain Bappi.
In May last year, RAB arrested writer Mushtaq Ahmed, cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore, Didarul Islam, a member of Rashtra Chinta, and Minhaj Mannan, director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange. RAB has filed a case under the Digital Security Act against a total of 11 people, including Era, for using social media to spread conspiracy theories and rumors against the state. Writer Mushtaq Ahmed, who was arrested in that case and was lodged in Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur, died last Thursday night.
