The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has said, “Bangladesh and India will make a lot of progress in the 21st century. The two countries will show the world the way to peace and love.

He made the remarks while visiting Shridham Orakandi Thakurbari, a pilgrimage site of the Matua community in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Saturday (March 26).

"I have come to this holy land today by the grace of Sri Sri Harichand Tagore," Modi said at a gathering at Orakandi Thakurbari. I bow at the feet of Harichand Tagore and Guruchand Tagore. Talked to a few people after coming here. They could not believe that the Prime Minister of India could come here. But I feel very lucky to be able to come to Orakandi. I feel the same peace as the visitors from India. '

"I wanted to come here a long time ago," he said. When I first came to Bangladesh as the Prime Minister in 2015, I wanted to come to Orakandi. I got a lot of love by coming here. The great Mao of Thakur Nagar in West Bengal gave me such affection and love. There is the same kind of respect and trust from Thakur Nagar to Thakurbari.

Modi said, 'I have brought the love of 1.3 billion Indians to Bangladesh. Congratulations to all on the golden jubilee of your independence. Yesterday I saw a cultural program at the parade ground in Dhaka, which fascinated me.

He said, 'Before coming here, I went to pay my respects at the tomb of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangabandhu's leadership and the faith and love of the people of the country towards him is truly incomparable.

The Prime Minister of India said, “India and Bangladesh have strong ties. This Thakurbari is a place of pilgrimage for the spiritual relations of the two countries. Our relationship is with people, our relationship is with the mind. India and Bangladesh want to see the world improve rather than develop and prosper; Wants to see a world free of violence; Wants to see a world of love and affection. And this was the same dream of Harichand Tagore. He spoke of these values.

Modi said, 'Harichand Tagore spoke of the development of women's power; Started working for their social partnership. Which is what the whole world wants to do today. If I read or remember the words of Harichand Tagore, I think he already knew what would happen. He had seen the future before. '

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Orakandi in Kashiani around 12:30 pm on Saturday (March 26). At this time he was received by the Matuars of Thakurbari by playing uludhbani, conch and drum-bronze. There he worshiped. He later exchanged views with members of the Thakurbari and leaders of the Matua community.

Earlier, at 11:36 a.m., Narendra Modi paid homage at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj. The helicopter carrying him landed at Tungipara helipad around 11:25 pm. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina welcomed him with flowers.

Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi paid homage at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. After visiting the mausoleum complex, Modi signed the inspection book. He then planted a sapling next to Bangabandhu Bhaban. Bangabandhu's youngest daughter and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's younger sister Sheikh Rehana was present at the time.

Before coming to Gopalganj, the Indian Prime Minister went to Satkhira. He landed at AS Sobahan Secondary School ground in Shyamnagar by helicopter from Dhaka at around 10 am. Modi visited and worshiped the 400-and-a-half-year-old historical Jessoreshwari Kali Mandir there. At this time he exchanged views with the people of the Hindu community.
