Bangladesh born Aboul Khan has won as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

He has been elected as the House of Representatives for the fourth times.

A facebook post of Khan reads "Honorable veterans, respectable residents in Seabrook and Hampton Falls - thank you for your support and vote in today's historical election. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the property owners who let me put my campaign signs on their property. I will continue to work hard to bring your questions and concerns to the state house. Together, we will work to make our district (Seabrook/Hampton Falls) and the state of New Hampshire a great and prosperous place to live. Thank you and God Bless America."

Aboul Khan was the top vote-getter Tuesday with 3,444 votes, followed by political newcomers Tim Baxter with 3,292 and Tina Harley with 3,182, reports Seacoast Online.

They defeated Democrats Patricia O'Keefe with 2,448 votes, Louis D. Flynn with 2,395 and Greg Marrow with 1,904.

"I feel great," said Khan. "This is my district. I have been working in this district as its representative for the last six years and I'm grateful to the people who came out and supported me… I promise I will work very hard for them and their interests."

Khan immigrated from Bangladesh to the United States in 1981.
