Cizar: Advancing towards SDGs.

 A student working as a private tutor and runs his family, but because of the epidemic situation, all educational institutions are closed so the way of his earning is closed. Who will manage his alternative source of earning? Usually,

a student needs to get prepared for his career. He needs several skills development courses for this, but where can he get so much money? Again, several students are tortured by local power or they get involved in land dispute; since they have to stay a long time at their local places.

In this situation, to whom will they seek help? Who will help them? During the COVID-19 situation, DU students are not getting justice they deserve and facing many crises like this. At that time, a student leader realized those problems, a human-like angel comes forward to solve their problem with the help of law and Justice.

Zulias Cizar Talukdar, a youth leader who works for DU students during the COVID-19 crisis, is trying his best to ensure peace, justice and confirm the institutional strength to raise voice and advocacy.

He has established three organizations for Dhaka University students. But, how do these works reach SDGs? “Dhaka University Nirapotta Moncha’’ has supported almost 300 students and their families.

This team swears for the security of the students. It can be legal issues, violence, abuse, medical emergencies, and so on. Another Organization “Dhaka University Students’ Forum” have arranged a program “Medhabir Hashi” and have shared Eid joys for 305 DU students who are in financial crisis and can't buy enough food for celebrating their Eid-Ul-Fitr. This organization always speaks on behalf of the students to fulfil their demands.

Cizar found that although the students of Dhaka University are good in academic life, they lack essential requirements for the job. He realized the gaps between the requirements and the reality of the candidates. So, he has established another organization “The School of Lifelong Learning”. This organization aims to develop skills according to the requirements of the job market.

So, it is seen that Dhaka University Nirapotta Moncha is committed to keeping the students of this university safe and securing the reputation and these initiatives help the organization to reach the 16th as well as 3rd SDG goal.

“School of Lifelong Learning” also reaches 4th (4.4) and 16th SDG goals respectively as this organization aims to increase the number of people with relevant skills for financial success. Collectively, all of these organizations promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Needless to say, Zulias Cizar Talukdar is playing a vital role as the leader of these organizations, to achieve the 3rd,4th (4.4) and 16th SDG goals. In this crisis, Cizar’s mission is to accomplish the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) through the proper functioning of the organizations he has established. Nowadays, students are getting a lot of benefits from these organizations and Zulias Cizar Talukdar has been assertive so that these benefits could be amplified for his beloved community people.
