Raincoat Distribution for the Rickshaw pullers by JCI

Covid and lockdowns has brought many hardships over the poor. One group that have their income directly affected are the rickshaw pullers. They have to work rain or shine to make daily ends meet. With the recent unpredictable heavy showers, It is difficult for those who are making a living by driving rickshaws to drive a rickshaw in the pouring rain, and they are also suffering from various infectious diseases due to the wetness in the rain.

To alleviate their suffering, JCI Dhaka Young and JCI Dhaka West decided to jointly distributed raincoats among the struggling rickshaw pullers to alleviate some of their suffering. hem.

The program called ‘Rain Shelter’ was held on Tuesday, 16th August in Gulshan 2 residential area. Rain coats were given given to more than a hundred rickshaw pullers. Hundreds of masks were also distributed which were sponsored byis from "Pizzawala" the Pizza Shop.

The members of JCI felt think that such an effort will make the rickshaw pullers’ir journey a little easier in the rain. They expressed their determination to continue such public welfare programs in the future as well.
